Country Music Singer / Songwriter Matt Steel - Bio

Matt Steel was born to sing.  From singing as a child in the church choir to playing the trumpet in elementary school... Matt's passion and natural talent for music has always been obvious to those around him. Matt's youth was filled with a variety of musical influences, growing up with a collection of 8-tracks and vinyl records ranging from the Oak Ridge Boys to Elvis.  Matt's passion for songwriting led him to favor some of the more popular singer/songwriters such as Billy Joel, John Melloncamp,  and James Taylor... and country music artists such as Clint Black, Brooks and Dunn, Chris LeDoux,  George Strait, and Garth Brooks, just to name a few.

Matt started teaching himself the guitar in the Fall of 1992 while living in Denver, CO.  It was somewhere in that mile-high air where Matt's love for country music was forged in steel.  Like most rising stars, Matt's journey has been a long and challenging one, each challenge overcome with true dedication and tremendous commitment to his craft.  Over the last few years, Matt has turned his attention to songwriting and performing as a solo act.  Not only a talent on stage, Matt is an extremely talented songwriter and is a member of NSAI (Nashville Songwriter's Association International) and ASCAP.

A youthful energy, spirit, and body... combined with the depth wisdom of a 30-year songwriter, Matt Steel appeals to the young and old alike.  A true artist, passionate, determined, and steadfast, Matt Steel is undoubtedly the "Man of Steel" in country music who is destined to do far more than leap tall buildings in Nashville.  If you haven't heard Matt Steel's music, you will someday soon.  Matt released his debut album in July 2007 that is certain to make a splash.  Stay tuned and be sure to sign up for Matt Steel's official newsletter so that we can keep you posted on all the upcoming events and big announcements.  We hope you come on-board the steel train... it's going to be one heck of a ride.
